He was one of history's greatest conquerors, and in his day, his very name caused terror. His forces burned great cities to the ground, and killed on a scale that can only be called "genocide." But there was also another side to Genghis Khan, one that most people have never considered. He modernized the laws and customs of his people and unified much of Eurasia, spreading the trade and cultural influence of the Silk Road. For these accomplishments - and not for his atrocities - he is still celebrated as the greatest hero of the Mongolian people.
In this essential new biography, Alexander Kennedy examines Genghis Khan in all his facets conqueror and diplomat, warlord and lawgiver, father and son, butcher and hero. We can see the rise of Temüjin, from the kidnapped son of a clan chief to the ruler of a united Mongol horde, the "Genghis Khan." But we also see the human cost of his quest - the fallen cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, the devastation of northern China, and the shaky empire he left behind. Through piercing analysis, we can gradually separate fact from fiction until we at last glimpse the real Genghis Khan in all his terrible glory.
"Be of one mind and one faith, that you may conquer your enemies and lead long and happy lives." - Genghis Khan

Khan (Audible Audio Edition) Alexander Kennedy Jim D Johnston Fritzen Publishing LLC Books Reviews
It is for kid if compared to "Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World Paperback – March 22, 2005
by Jack Weatherford."
You can tell when an author has little passion for the story he's telling. This book reads more like an assembly manual for a barbecue grill than the exploits of one of the world's most famous warriors.
I just started reading this book, and can't put it down. I'm learning a lot about Khan thing that I didn't know.
I did receive this book free or at a discounted price for my honest review
UGH! A Cliff Notes book for people wh mighthave to take a teat. Avoid it
It's always interesting to hear about historic figures of all types.
I'm an english/history high school teacher, teaching abroad in South America, and I have a few students who could have written this much better than the author. Hate the writing style. It was distracting. I bought this book hoping it would be good for my students but it's a definite NO!
I think Kennedy's series of books are intended for students. This one, like the others, is crammed with data and details with no descriptive art. If you want to be submerged in rain barrel or you enjoy drinking from a fire hose, this book is for you.
